It's Been A Great 2 Months At Bourbons
Believe it or not, it's been almost two months since we opened our doors here at Bourbons. And *wow*, what an awesome two months it's been! There's just a few things we want to talk to you about, including some events we've got coming up and a few tasty items we're serving. Let's talk about the first big event coming up, our Kentucky Derby bash.
Derby Fun At Bourbons
Stop by on Saturday, May 5, 2018 to watch the Kentucky Derby with us, enjoy some classic Hot Brown sandwiches, and get your vote in on which horse you think will win the race. There's some special prizes for everyone who picks the champion!
Check out our Facebook event and keep your eyes peeled for a follow-up post here on the blog.
Mother's Day Brunch
Yes, it really is almost Mother's Day. It's happening Sunday, May 13, 2018 to be exact. If you're looking for a special way to treat your mom then come on over for some brunch at Bourbons. You *definitely* shouldn't wait until the last minute with this one though; be sure to get your reservations in now.
A Big Thanks
Let's pause for just a minute so we can give a big thanks to all of you that have paid us a visit these past two months. We can't fully express how grateful we are, especially for those who helped us iron out the kinks during those first few days and provided invaluable feedback.
Some Kind Words
Speaking of feedback, check out some of our guest's favorite things about Bourbons. We're always looking to improve and appreciate all the kind words.
"First, I want to say the whole team at Bourbons is wonderful. From the time you walk in, and your experience starts until you leave. The food was amazing. We started with the Vidalia Onion Dip, Pickled Shrimp and Hummus w/Pita Bread. Moved on to the Mac & Cheese with Candied Bacon...Oh yeah! The Pulled Pork, the Brisket, Ribs, just pick something you WILL NOT be disappointed. It was nice to also see a familiar and friendly face too, Erik behind the bar! Thank you for everything....I can't wait to come back. What a wonderful time and wonderful experience!"

"The owners did an exceptional job on the interior! It is absolutely stunning inside, they really nailed the southern charm! We ate the short rib pizza and the macaroni with candied bacon, both were fantastic! The Cajun lemonade I drank was very refreshing. Our server Katie was phenomenal. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive! Can’t wait to visit again!!!"

"This place just opened in downtown Brighton and is owned by the same people as Brighton Bar and Grill.
My husband and I loved everything. He had the burnt ends and said they were fabulous. We tried the wings and hummus too and both of them had really great flavor. We were both surprised with how much we loved the hummus.
My husband ordered the fried chicken for his meal and said it was very good. He really liked the Okra too.
I had the brisket sandwich with no dairy (allergy) and they were very accommodating. The brisket is so good, it's crisp and juicy. I loved it! I imagine the sandwich is even better WITH the dairy.
The service has been great too. Our waiter was friendly, funny and attentive. He made us laugh and the cougars next to us.
The drinks are to die for. I only tried the blueberry martini and I didn't need anything else. Omg I want to have it on tap at my house, so yummy!
This place is packed on a Wednesday, they're already doing so many thing right. Definitely try it!"

The Latest & Greatest
We're always trying something new, but we have a few favorites lately that we want to give a closer look.
Now On Tap
First up are a couple seasonal, local brews now on tap.
Oberon - A Summer Classic
Oberon Ale by Bell's Brewery
5.8% ABV
A wheat ale fermented with Bell's signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouthfeel, making it a classic summer beer. Made with only 4 ingredients, and without the use of any spices or fruit, Oberon is the color and scent of a sunny afternoon.
Soft Parade Shandy
Soft Parade Shandy by Short's Brewing Company
4.2% ABV
Soft Parade Shandy is a blend of Short’s flagship fruit rye ale, Soft Parade, and homemade lemonade. This beer is raspberry in color and smells like fresh berry lemonade. Soft Parade Shandy finishes with the faint taste of fruit candy. It is light in body and very refreshing.
Mixed Just Right
Another libation we've been enjoying lately is one of our own: the Blueberry Martini.
Made with Skyy Pacific Blueberry vodka, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and simple syrup, garnished with a sugar rim. It's a crispy, flavorful way to round out your meal. I mean, just look how delicious that photo is.
Better Than Mama's Pie?
There's few things better than when Mama makes it, but we think we're a pretty close contender. Get cozy on these cold Spring nights with a slice of warm, homemade pecan pie and a Spanish coffee to wash it down.
What's Your Favorite?
We want to give a huge thanks again to everyone who's been a part of the Bourbons experience so far. What have y'all been enjoying? If you haven't got the chance to stop by yet, what are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below!
